Before you go to sleep, write down three things that made you happy that day. This will help you focus on the positive, instead of any negative events that may have occurred. Looking back over your old to-do lists and reviewing what you’ve accomplished is also a good way to snap yourself into a better mood.

When I have guests at my home during the holidays, I schedule a quick get away so I can have a little alone time -- even if I'm just doing errands.
Lists! of the folks you give gifts to, what you buy/want to buy and the prices. you'll feel organized when you go shopping and that you're manaaging your budget. I save mine every year for reference.
